Nurse Practitioners (NPs)

Nurse practitioners complete a master's or doctoral degree program and have advanced clinical training beyond their initial professional registered nurse (RN) preparation. They must also undergo rigorous national certification, periodic peer review, clinical outcome evaluations and adhere to a code for ethical practices.

Autonomously and in collaboration with acute and chronic pain physicians, our inpatient and outpatient pain NPs provide a range of pain care services, including:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions
  • Management of epidural and regional infusion catheters
  • Post-operative pain care coordination and follow-up
  • Coordination of inpatient and outpatient chronic pain care
  • Educating and counseling patients on multimodal approaches to acute and chronic pain management
